I suppose it's no secret that I love to collect dolls. As a child, I played with dolls a lot. They were often replacement siblings since I was an only child. I loved the pretty ones ~ pretty dresses, pretty hair, pretty eyes. I tend to roam more towards the old and used these days but there is always a sparkle in their eyes. When I signed up to take an online soldered house class taught by Jane Blanco (you will see if you check out her Blog that she and I could be doll loving soul sisters) and Kecia Deveney, I knew my house would end up being a fabulous dollhouse with images of dollies, their homes and lovely flowers. Did I mention I love flowers too?
As is typical with me when creating my own art, this project was a work in progress way beyond the houses of other students. I've said it before that I am definitely the turtle. There were pictures to be found (I printed all the pictures off that heavenly site Pinterest), collaging to be done, bling to be collected and some mad soldering skills to hone.
I love how this cutie peeks out from the millenary and lace. . .
These old german dollhouses are priceless. Can you imagine?
I do hope that my daughter embraces my dollie world someday. I am pleased with how it turned out and don't even notice my soldering blunders anymore. It makes me smile and isn't that what art is all about?
It's absolutely gorgeous!!
